WELCOME TO THE DUDLEY FAMILY COMMUNITY ON HOOSIER ROOTS
The Dudley Community on HoosierRoots covers my New England ancestors who helped to colonize Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The lives of these familes were so intertwined that a pedigree chart resmebles a plate of spaghetti. Here you will find information on the families of DUDLEY, LADD, GILMAN, SLEEPER, MARSTON, EASTOW, FOLSOM, PHILBRICK, PERKINS, AYRES, TREWORGYE, SHAPLEIGH, ROBERTS, SANBORN, CLOUGH, BACHILER, TUCK, GUILE, DOW, and CARR.
While the majority of the information presented here covers these New England families of the 1600's and 1700's, there is also some space devoted to tracing them back to their English roots in the 1500's, as well as tracking the DUDLEY and MARSTON lines forward into Ohio in the early 1800's and on into Indiana by the mid 1800's.
Here there are tales of those who made history, from the realtivly well known Colonial Govenor of Massachusetts, Thomas DUDLEY, to the firey LADD women who refused to pay the King's tax collector. Much of this information has come from transpcripts of the wonderful colonial records, as well as local histories and the weatlh of New England research which has been performed.
I hope this information helps you in your family history research and look forward to
hearing from my distant cousins; email me at
dudley@hoosierroots.com.
